Description

Acrylic and Collage on Paper
62 x 92 cm (glazed and framed)
Andrena floricola was last recorded in the UK in 1939, shortly before the outbreak of the 2nd World War.
A specimen is in the Natural History Museum, taken at Princes Risborough, Chilterns, Buckinghamshire.
Close to the present route of HS2 where it emerges from the tunnel beneath the Chilterns.
I made this piece for the 5th 50Bees Exhibition April/May, 2022, ACE Arts, Somerton, Somerset
I hope the the increased activity in the area, and the promise to make good and regenerate on completion of building work
will provide the habitat required for it’s return
